23 on the 23rd!

I have always imagined what I would do for my 23rd birthday on the 23rd of January. I figured that I would throw some gigantic party but, I never thought that I would living it up in Greece! The whole thing really snuck up on me as I was focused more on settling back in and getting ready for exams than on my birthday. Luckily for me my new MEEES friends were on top of the situation and made sure that I was well taken care of.

The day started as most have over the last few weeks with an early trip to campus, not for class, but to continue chipping away at the mountain of Homework I have to complete before exams. Then I went home right after dinner to take a power nap in preparation for the upcoming festivities. The first event on the schedule was a trip to Gary's apartment for some conversation and relaxation. Enrique, Gary, Romain, and myself had a great time swapping stories and I even joined in a firey debate over who has the best "football" South America or Europe. After that we met up with about 10 others downtown at a little place called People. This is our favorite night spot in town as it plays great music, people actually dance, and "people!!" is the meees's catchphrase of the moment. Word had apparently gotten out about my party as we saw many flyers around town advertising for what must be the name of my Greek fan club the "Dickens Zoo". I was a little home sick and wished all of my friends and family could have been here to celebrate with me but I really did have a great time with all of the people I have met over in Greece.
